ENK NYC Exhibition
Last Tuesday I had the privilege of accompanying my friend Danielle to the ENK NYC Exhibition, a semi-annual menswear tradeshow in Chelsea, NY. This particular event showcased the latest mens fashion for SS 2012, featuring a plethora of styles and brands tailored to every type of man – from the metrosexual, to the prep, to the hipster, to the crossdresser, to the average Joe. I myself was drawn to many pieces on display; in this day and age where women don menswear without a second thought, I was able to envision a variety of garments on myself.
Danielle was generous enough to include me as her guest while she represented Tailor Vintage, a Connecticut-based, family owned and operated mens line with a very retro, preppy vibe (consider the tropical prints of Tommy Bahama fused with the quality fabrics of Vineyard Vines and J.Crew and you have Tailor Vintage). I was highly impressed with the textures of Tailor’s soft knits, linens, and seersucker; all of the clothing is hand-constructed in India. What’s also awesome is that many of the pieces are completely reversible….talk about style AND convenience, what guy wouldn’t be sold on that?!
While Danielle was hard at work, I browsed the overwhelming variety of brands while frequently stopping to snap pics or chat with designers and brand representatives. I recognized iconic names such as Paige, Hudson and Citizens of Humanity, and discovered some new brands. I was especially drawn to the gorgeous leather bags and accessories embellished with vibrant Navajo fabrics by Will Leather Goods.

I stopped dead in my tracks to fawn over this leather jacket from von Leuchtenberg…
I was really digging the East Coast meets West Coast vibe of nuco.
All in all, the event was but a brief glimpse into the crazy world of trade shows. Like a kid in a candy store, I made a point of networking with a bunch of cool designers and reps who seemed to admire my work as a blogger. There were veterans, dreamers
This fierce and fabulous hombre indulged me in snapping a style shot of him in his KILLER destroyed tee. Such great DIY inspiration for RR!
Hopefully I’ll be able to visit ENK again some time in the near future….I’d love to see some womenswear too!
XOXO
Lucy
