Blogger Spotlight: Jean Greige

I don’t know why I feel like I’m revealing some sort of “secret” in spotlighting LA-based blogger Madeline Pendleton of Jean Greige, but I feel like it’s my obligation as a member of the blogging community.  Out of the hundreds of sites that I read, Jean Greige makes my top five and it’s easy to see why; not only does Madeline have a very unique look and KILLER style, but she’s not afraid to experiment on a whim (i.e. dying her hair an electric shade of neon green or rocking unconventional/culturally controversial pieces).  Calling herself “the product of a consumption-based culture,” it’s easy to see how Madeline actually has fun with fashion….never taking herself too seriously.  Girlfriend is also quite a talented writer, taking the time to thoughtfully comment on certain social and cultural issues, oftentimes (but not necessarily) connecting them to modern views and policies on fashion and consumerism.  She also runs an online vintage shop called Tunnel Vision with friend and partner Brit of blog Disarming Darling.  Madeline’s style is always on point – quirky, colorful, rad and eccentric yet NEVER overdone or unwearable – an odd feat considering the fact that she dons some serious grunge pieces.

Check out some of her looks below – flannels, beanies, combat boots,  graphic tees and heavy hardware scream grunge while maxi lengths, sheer fabrics, top hats and bustiers add more feminine and balanced touches.

If you’re like me and dream of raiding this chick’s closet, check out her online vintage boutique called Tunnel Vision….she and Brit have put together a sick collection of pieces for resale, and the styling is UHMAZING (Les and I are hoping to put together something similar, with our signature RR jewelry!) Also take a look at their latest lookbook here, titled “In a White Room.”

If you check the Jean Greige/Disarming Darling sites and Tunnel Vision Facebook page frequently, the ladies often host giveaways and promo codes!

XOXO
