Isaiah Toothtaker

Isaiah Toothtaker is an enigma. Social media accounts aside, I’ve had a hard time finding much on him. But I suppose the mystique is what makes him so appealing. His strong artistic personality and the products of his talent are what shine, not the details of his life.

But what I do know about him is this:

He’s Co-Founder of Machina Muerte, an international hip hop music collective and label that contains members from accomplished veterans to premiering underground artists. The network of artists produce musical art, with non-conformity and self-expression at the center of their mission.

He’s Founder of the Tucson tattoo parlor Staring Without Caring. He’s a brilliant visual creator who loves decorating his own body in art as much as he likes gifting others with it.

He’s a convicted multiple felon, a fact that he does not brag about, nor does he hide. He owns his past and uses it to provide inspiration and motivation in his life and career.

He’s got the uncanny ability to dress as fresh as he keeps his tracks and videos.

His music was featured in this racy but brilliant video by Jason Last for BleachBlack’s “Jizz” nail polish, featuring model Carmen Solomons wearing Bliss Lau jewelry. Toothtaker’s song featured is “Tantamount,” which is probably my all time favorite:

Here’s a video directed and edited by Toothtaker, and filmed by Rob Crawford. The song is called “Rob Zombie,” by Toothtaker + Rapewolf, and produced by Harry Fraud:

Toothtaker’s style, as I can best define it, is a cross between raw urban streetwear and something from another era all together — a genteel quality of refinement lost on most males today. He’s got an eye for colors and patterns, and incorporates crisp tailored button downs with charming hats, heavy chains, and a metallic smile.

His new album “Toothy Wavy” was created by him and Max B, and produced entirely by The Hood Internet. It was released May 15th by MishkaNYC.

But most importantly of all, follow him on Instagram for amazing photos of tattoo art and his style. His username is toothtaker.
