Lollapalooza in Pictures

I’ve gone to Lollapalooza five years running and each and every time is a completely unique experience. I’d count 2012 as the best one yet.

Day One

I wore a Nasty Gal floral crop shirt with DIY shredded high waisted denim shorts and harness boots. I accessorized with cocktail rings, a Rusted Revolution Holster handpiece, Nasty Gal claw cuff, chunky chain choker, a thrifted purse, and Miu Miu sunglasses.

My roommate Celby looked rocker chic for Black Sabbath in an ombre leopard pleated corset, high waisted bleached black denim shorts, and black and gold sandals.

Me with friends Paulina and Sarah.

Me, Paulina, Sarah, Celby, and Olivia.

Our friend Marlen (of Messages on a Napkin) wore a quirky “old man” getup that looked effortlessly chic — big floppy hat, oversized floral blouse, and exaggerated high-waist shorts created from a pair of mens jeans.

Day Two

Wilson in the most ridiculous tourist get up.

Party on the train! Celby wore a Rusted Revolution Art Deco Harness with a black lace crop top, rainbow bikini, and denim shorts.

Paulina and Marlen at Lolla. Paulina rocked a pair of army print Supras, and as ever, Marlen looked vintage-chic in a floral getup and oversized hat.

Me with Marlen and Peter. I wore a Nasty Gal Get Down Tank in black with low rise rose-colored lace-up shorts from Zara, combat boots, and a Rusted Revolution Lasso Harness and Holster Handpiece.

Crazed RHCP fan.

Day Three

Celby in a pretty denim sundress with cut out back.

Sarah and Aileen looking pretty in tribal print dresses.

Celby and Sarah, with Ross in an Ace Ventura-esque look.

Me and Celby. I wore an American Apparel halter leotard with high-waist polka dotted shorts. It got too hot for my vintage Levi’s denim vest, so I hooked it over my thrifted DIY studded satchel.

The girlsss.

The boys.

Ran into my co-worker Cynthia looking amazing in a studded Topshop sports bra and artfully faded blue hair.

Day Four

Okay, so this isn’t really a day of Lolla — but the aftermath is worth mentioning. We all got brunch at Kanela, this FANTASTIC brunch place in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. It’s got delicious elevated breakfast food. Bacon Waffles with chocolate-covered bacon, sunnyside up eggs with duck confit underneath, Eggs Benedict with slow-roasted pork belly and brussel sprouts.

The food is phenomenal. I look kind of disgusted at how much food I just ate below:

BEST weekend. Ever.

Til next time!

xox,
Lesley
